IN THE KITCHEN WITH TERESA FOO: MAKE YOUR OWN LIP BALM, LIP GLOSS, AND SOLID PERFUME
For those who want to understand the ingredients that make up skin and body care products, this is for you. In this workshop, Balm Kitchen will teach you the basic theory of skin care and how to formulate products for your skin. There is a demonstration conducted by the instructor, Teresa Foo, followed by a hands-on workshop where you will learn to make your own lip balm, lip gloss, and solid perfume.
What you will learn
We begin with a basic theory class covering the following: skin anatomy; an introduction of carrier oils, butters, and essential oils; understanding antioxidants; understanding how ingredients penetrate our skin; learning how to select ingredients for product formulation, and how to formulate products.
What you will do
After the theory session, we then move into a demonstration of how lip balms, lip glosses, and solid perfumes are made. Participants will then begin a hands-on workshop under the guidance of the instructor to create each product.
What you will receive
Each participant will take home the products they have created in class. They will also receive a set of oils and butter for future practice and formulation of more products at home. All students will be given the original formulas for each product as well as a set of class notes.
Light refreshments and a summer beverage are included in the course fee.
This class is suitable for beginners. No prior experience is needed.
